The owner's vision was to design and build a mountain weekend and vacation home that would take advantage of three distinct view opportunities.....Lake Pend Oreille looking east to Hope, Idaho and the Green Monarch Mountains, west to Sandpoint's Longbridge, and north over the Selle Valley to the Schweitzer Ski Resort.
The first challenge was to create three separate building pads from a site that sloped in all directions. Second was to address the owners program requirements, siting the building and major rooms to exploit the incredible views. Lastly, working with Bitterroot Timberframes and Sierra Pacific Windows to design a timberframe structure and an innovative and dramatic door and window package.
