Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Architect: James Horn of Spears Architects
Contractor: John G. Rehders

In April of 1973, a group of sensitive and proactive women initiated a crisis hotline as a means of supporting victims of sexual assault. Using their kitchen tabletop "office" and one phone, these women responded to the needs of 20 sexual assault survivors in the first year.

In April of 1998, the Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center celebrated 25 years of continuously expanding service and support to Santa Fe and northern New Mexico. The Center currently provides direct support services to over 500 survivors of sexual violence and their families each year. In addition, the Center's outreach and prevention programs reach over 10,000 people in the community every year.

Sierra Pacific was chosen to supply the wood windows for the new headquarters building for the Rape Crisis Center. The wood interior lends warmth and comfort to the building and blends well with the warm interior décor. The products chosen includes casement, awning and direct glaze windows featured in gull gray and clay aluminum clad exteriors.
